Graham Potter's job as Chelsea head coach is under threat following a poor run of results and Todd Boehly will have decisions to make on his boss on an almost daily basis
Graham Potter remains under intense pressure at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea boss' job is under threat after the latest in a long line of poor results came against Spurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Spurs is a game Chelsea can almost always bank on winning, with Tottenham having only won seven of the 61 Premier League meetings between the sides before Sunday. But goals from Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane ensured that number became eight to ramp up the pressure on Potter.
Chelsea have won just one of their last 11 matches in all competitions and two in their last 16. They sit tenth in the Premier League table and if they do not overturn a one-goal deficit against Borussia Dortmund next week, will be out of the Champions League too.
It had been reported that the next two games are crucial for Potter, who admits he cannot rely on goodwill from the board forever. Speaking after the defeat to Tottenham he said: "I know the responsibility. Results are not good enough for this club. I'm not happy with them. I take full responsibility for those results.
"If results aren't good enough, which they aren't at the moment, you can't rely on support forever. My job is to keep going, to try and change the moment. The players are hurting. It's a tough moment for us."
According to them Boehly and the board are "determined to give Graham Potter time to turn around the club’s fortunes and do not want to make a decision on his future based on the next two games".
football.london understands, as mentioned above, that Potter has support for now, but as the head coach himself has admitted, that support will not last forever.
