Previously, renowned journalist Sami Mokbel and other sources reported that Arsenal were preparing to submit a £70 million bid to Newcastle United for Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
However, according to a follow-up report by Newcastle United correspondent Lee Ryder, internal sources at Newcastle United stated that a £70 million offer would not be enough to open negotiations for Guimaraes.
Reportedly, Newcastle United's stance on Guimaraes remains unchanged – they do not wish to sell the Brazilian international, and Guimaraes is expected to report back to the Newcastle United training camp.
The reporter concluded that it seems Arsenal would have to make an "astronomical" offer for Newcastle United to consider selling Guimaraes.
