Neymar expressed disappointment after being omitted from Brazil’s latest squad announced by Carlo Ancelotti for the upcoming international friendlies.
The Santos forward, who recently returned to form with two goals and one assist in the Brazilian Série A, had initially been included in the pre-selection list. However, the Italian coach ultimately decided not to call him up for the matches against France and Croatia, explaining that the Brazilian star is not yet at full fitness.
Carlo Ancelotti clarified that the decision was purely based on physical condition. “Neymar could participate in the World Cup if he is at 100%, but right now he is not,” the coach said. The Brazilian number 10 quickly reacted during a Kings League Brazil event, admitting he felt disappointed but remained determined. Neymar insisted that he will keep working to prove himself before the final squad list for the World Cup is announced in May.
