Neymar's return could be delayed by another 2 months

Neymar has reportedly suffered a setback in his long-waited return for Al-Hilal.

The Brazilian called an end to his time in European football last summer after joining the Saudi Pro League in a stunning £78million move.

However, his hopes of making a significant impact for his new side were ruined when he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while on international duty in October of last year.

It proved to be a season-ending injury with the 32-year-old also missing out on the Copa America over the summer.

Neymar has been regularly posting images of and clips of himself stepping up his recovery, leading fans to believe a return is imminent.

However, reports are circling that he recently failed physical and medical tests.

And that could mean it will be at least another two months until he returns to action.

The claims were made by the X account @ithamer_7, which shared videos of the former Barcelona and PSG man undergoing tests.

The physiotherapist that uploaded the clip said that 'Neymar’s lack of stability and confidence during jump exercises was apparent, particularly in his knee, which showed signs of weakness during landings.'

Having spent four years in Spain with Barcelona, Neymar then stayed in Paris for six seasons where he scored 118 goals and recorded 77 assists across 173 games.

He made five appearances for Al-Hilal prior to his injury, contributing one goal and three assists.
