Felix Nmecha has urged Borussia Dortmund to find their cutting edge in front of goal if they want to challenge for the Bundesliga title this season.
Dortmund finished as runners-up behind Bayern Munich in 2025-26, ending the campaign 16 points behind the champions having failed to keep the pressure on them.
Niko Kovac's team won 73 points in total, losing just five games – only Bayern (one) lost fewer – but seven draws seemingly proved costly.
Bayern are the favourites to lift a third straight Bundesliga crown this term, but Nmecha is confident Dortmund can get closer to their rivals this time around.
"I think, generally speaking, we just need to be a bit more clinical in our matches," he told Sky Sport Germany.
"We need to win the big games and not draw as many matches as last season. That will make a huge difference. If you look at last season's games, we hardly lost at all – against Bayern and, I think, two other games.
"But all those draws didn't do us any favours in terms of points. If we do better this season, we have a very good chance.
"I think we want to have a bit more control in a few games. Last season it was sometimes a bit chaotic.
"We didn't concede many goals, but offensively we still need to find the key and hopefully score more goals. That will be important this season."

Dortmund have not won a trophy since lifting the DFB-Pokal in 2020-21, while their last league title came in 2011-12.
They start their season with the DFL-Supercup against Bayern on August 22 – a trophy they last won in 2019 – and Nmecha is targeting silverware with Dortmund this term.
"Of course, we want to win. If you win a game like that directly against Bayern, it naturally gives you a lot of momentum. Hopefully, we will do it," he added.
"I believe that in every cup competition and also in the season, the goal must be to win. I know for myself and as a team that we're not just there to participate.
"Of course, we want to win. But it's important not to think too far ahead. The goal is clear, but we have to take it one game at a time."
