Norwich City's Stuart Webber has resigned as sporting director after six years in the job, overseeing two Premier League promotions and immediate relegations during his time at the helm.
The club announced that the 39-year-old had agreed to part ways with the Canaries 'at the turn of the year', and would continue to stay in the post for the remainder of his notice period, helping the club to find a suitable replacement in the meantime.
In a statement from the club, Webber said: 'The support I've had from all the board, past and present, throughout my time at the club has been outstanding.
'I look forward to the next chapter and helping as much or as little in this transition over the coming months. The board know they have my unwavering support.
'I wish the club the very best and I look forward to supporting from afar.'
The statement from the club also described how Webber was 'instrumental in building infrastructures and facilities across the club, particularly at the Lotus Training Centre and academy'.
The club have also announced that Neil Adams will move into a newly-formed role of technical director.
Webber joined the Canaries in 2017 from Huddersfield Town and celebrated two Championships in 2019 and 2021 with his head coach appointee, Daniel Farke.
Norwich failed to retain their position in the top flight, however, and they were relegated a year later on both occasions after finishing in the bottom place of the Premier League.
After a year-long spell with Dean Smith as head coach, Webber brought in David Wagner as his replacement in January this year.
The two had worked together before at Huddersfield Town in 2015, and the German coach had led the Terriers to promotion two years later, a month after Webber had moved to Carrow Road.
Wagner's Norwich team have struggled to reach their past heights this season, finishing 12th in the Championship and losing four out of their last five games.
Joint majority shareholders Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones said: 'In our 28 years of serving this great football club, we have never worked with such a talent,' they continued.
'In terms of unity and mutual support, we are a completely different football club to the one he joined in 2017.
'Stuart Webber has been an outstanding servant to this football club and built a strong foundation for the future. We are very sad to lose him, owe him much gratitude and want to wish him all the very best.'
Webber has been linked with a move to Leeds, though no statement has been made to that effect.
