Chelsea is pleased to announce Academy forward Tyrique George has signed a new contract until 2027, with a further one-year option.

After coming through the Blues’ development centre programme, George signed as an Under-8 and progressed through the Academy ranks at Cobham.

He made his Under-18s debut at the start of the 2021/22 campaign while still a schoolboy and established himself as a regular in the side the following season, with 28 appearances made under Ed Brand and later Hassan Sulaiman.

Tyrique has extended his stay until at least the summer of 2027.

There was also recognition on the international stage as appearances for England Under-17s were made. He has since made the step up to the national team’s Under-18s squad.

Last season, George played prominent roles across two of our Academy sides and scored several eye-catching goals.

He made 26 appearances for our Under-21s – three of which came in the Premier League 2 playoffs – while 21 outings came with the Under-18s, who ended the campaign as Premier League South champions.

There was also men's first-team involvement. The 18-year-old trained regularly with the senior side during the second half of the season and was named on the substitutes’ bench for our Premier League victories over Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Congratulations, Tyrique!
