On July 10, Bologna officially announced the signing of Italian striker Ciro Immobile. According to earlier media reports, the two parties have agreed on a one-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.

Bologna Official Statement:

The club has secured the sporting services of Ciro Immobile. Born in 1990, he is regarded as one of the finest forwards of his generation. Following in the footsteps of club legends like Baggio and Signori, Immobile has chosen to don the red and blue of Bologna in what promises to be a glorious second chapter of his career, much like Gilardino, Di Vaio, and more recently Palacio.

Since 2008, he has scored 201 goals in Serie A—an unrivalled tally in that period—making him the 8th highest scorer in Serie A history. He has also claimed the Capocannoniere award four times and set a record of 36 goals in a single Serie A season in 2019–20. Two years ago, he was the UEFA Europa League’s top scorer.

A right-footed centre forward capable of playing across the front line, Immobile came through the youth ranks at Sorrento and Juventus before making his breakthrough at Pescara and Torino. He later became a Lazio icon and their all-time leading goalscorer, netting 169 goals in 270 appearances. His exceptional scoring record also earned him the European Golden Shoe.
