OFFICIAL: 38-year-old Olivier Giroud joins LOSC Lille.

A legend of French football is now putting on the jersey of the Dogues! LOSC and its President, Olivier Létang, are extremely honoured to make the arrival of Olivier Giroud official at the Club. The French international striker (137 caps, 57 goals), top scorer in the history of the France team, has signed with LOSC for one season, from Los Angeles FC (United States).

If he has left a major mark in each club he has been at, Olivier Giroud has literally risen to the rank of legend in the France team. In his 157 caps in 13 years (2011-2024), the emblematic striker of Les Bleus has been part of all the great epics, from the unforgettable victory at the 2018 World Cup to the frustrating finals lost at Euro 2016, then at the 2022 World Cup. In all, the man who became the record holder for the number of goals scored in the French jersey (57) has participated in 4 Euros (2012, 2016, 2020, 2024) and 3 World Cups (2014, 2018, 2022). He is also the third most capped French player in history behind Hugo Lloris (145) and Lilian Thuram (142). With several dozen records for efficiency as well as longevity, the new LOSC striker was honored by FIFA with the Puskas Award 2017 for the most beautiful goal of the year (a first for a Frenchman).

Now 38 years old and with 892 games (348 goals) as a professional, 14 European campaigns (including 11 in the Champions League) and 7 major competitions with Les Bleus, Olivier Giroud has decided to return to Ligue 1. And it was at LOSC that this emblematic striker of French football would write the rest of his career. There is no doubt that his invaluable experience will enrich the Dogues' squad at the dawn of this new European season.
