Sandro Wagner will be the new #FCA head coach! 🤝

The 37-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Red-Green-Whites on Wednesday and will officially begin his preseason training in Augsburg following the UEFA Nations League Finals! ⚽️

"We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Sandro Wagner, a head coach for our FCA who lives and breathes football. Sandro is highly ambitious and clearly committed to the direction of our FCA. In his previous positions, he has already proven his ability to improve teams and develop players. Sandro is very meticulous and can also captivate a team with his emotions. We look forward to working with him," says FCA Managing Director Michael Ströll.

"It was my goal to work as a head coach in the Bundesliga myself. The discussions convinced me that the position at FC Augsburg was exactly the right step. FCA has a clear philosophy that fits my playing style very well. I am a young coach who wants to develop alongside the club. The conditions for this are excellent in Augsburg. FCA is, just like me, very ambitious and has good structures and a great environment. The team has great potential, and I'm really looking forward to working together," says Sandro Wagner.

During his professional career, Sandro Wagner made over 300 competitive appearances, including for the German national team, FC Bayern Munich, TSG Hoffenheim, and Hertha BSC. A defining feature of the three-time German champion and two-time DFB Cup winner's career was his collaboration with top coaches such as Julian Nagelsmann, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Niko Kovac, and Jupp Heynckes.
