Young Swedish International Forward Signs Until 2029.

After Samu Omorodion, the second new face in Vítor Bruno's squad to arrive in Invicta from Stockholm is Deniz Gül. At 20 years old, Deniz Gül has joined FC Porto from Hammarby, signing a contract for the next five seasons and becoming the new number 27 for the Dragons.

The Dragons were European Champions when the latest signing was born in the Swedish capital. Son of a Turkish father and a Swedish mother, Deniz Gül began playing football at Stuvsta IF, a local club, before joining the youth ranks of Segeltorps IF, IF Brommapojkarna, AIK Solna, and FC Djursholm.

In 2021, after a significant physical transformation, the 1.90-meter tall player moved up and joined Hammarby's academy, where he developed into a modern striker. He attracted interest from foreign clubs but chose to stay and won the junior championship, becoming the top scorer of the competition and being named the best forward of the tournament. "My dream is to reach the first team," he declared at the time.

And it came true. In September 2022, he began training with Hammarby's senior team but was later loaned to a satellite club where he played 23 matches and contributed to 16 goals. He made his debut for the youth national teams six months later in a Euro U-19 qualifying match against Portugal in Vizela.

His performance impressed the club officials, and Deniz Gül made his debut in the top tier in October 2023, facing rival Djurgårdens. A regular starter the following week, he continued to be a key player, representing the U-20 and U-21 national teams, gaining recognition in the football world, and catching the eye of scouts interested in Nordic football. He is a powerful forward with experience in deeper positions, capable of operating away from the penalty area and not hesitating to shoot on goal.

Now, following in the footsteps of compatriots Lars Eriksson (1996 and 1997) and Fredrik Söderström (2001 and 2002), Deniz Gül will wear blue and white after signing a contract with FC Porto valid until 2029.
