The Committee has rejected Barcelona's appeal and he is sanctioned with one match. Disciplinary considers that the club does not provide "any evidence".

In a bitter blow for FC Barcelona, it has been officially confirmed that manager Hansi Flick will not be in the dugout for Sunday’s crucial match against Real Madrid due to a one-match suspension.

Flick was sent off by referee Gil Manzano this past weekend during Barça’s late 2-1 win over Girona at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

The Blaugrana protested the decision and, as confirmed by president Joan Laporta, had lodged an appeal to get the manager’s red card rescinded.

However, the RFEF has confirmed that Barcelona’s appeal has been rejected and Flick’s sending-off after two yellow cards in quick succession was valid.

“It is appropriate to dismiss the request to nullify the double booking that is the subject of this appeal,” part of the statement read.

“Consequently, it is decided to uphold the disciplinary consequences arising from the expulsion of Mr. Hans-Dieter Flick, proceeding with the imposition of a one-match suspension as provided for in Article 120 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code, along with the corresponding additional fines in accordance with Article 52.”

As such, the German tactician will now miss one match due to suspension, meaning he will not be on the bench when Barcelona take on Real Madrid this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In his absence, Flick’s assistant, Marcus Sorg, is expected to take charge of the team for the Clasico this weekend.
