On 14 March, Barcelona officially announced that Gavi available for selection for first time in five months since right knee meniscus operation.

Official Statement
Some players seem to mean more than just talent on the pitch. Gavi is precisely one of those players for FC Barcelona fans. Energy, character and a pure feeling for what the Club represents. The blaugrana number six is back available for selection for FC Barcelona against Sevilla after overcoming the right knee injury that has seen him missing out on matches for several months.
The Andalusian had an arthroscopy on 23 September 2025 to solve a right knee internal meniscus injury. The operation involved sewing the meniscus to preserve it, which meant around four to five months recovery time. The midfielder has followed the recovery process to the letter and has now reached a stage whereby he can return.
Putting in the work to recover
Gavi had played earlier in the season, getting 20 minutes in the first gameweek against Mallorca and 45 in the second against Levante. However, he felt some discomfort in the knee and had to pause playing, before ultimately having the operation. This led to 172 days of hard work since 23 September in order to be back and ready to play.
Ready to return
The midfielder is now available for selection for Hansi Flick once again, and that means Gavi could potentially play against Sevilla, a special opponent given he is from Andalusia. An appearance on the pitch would see him back playing after 205 days out.
His availability for selection is great news for the team and the fans, who will be able to enjoy a La Masia graduate who is somewhat unique given his character, passion, and intense approach for all things Barça.
