Ipswich officially announced that Fulham's center-back Diop has joined the club, with both parties signing a contract until 2030. According to earlier news from Romano, the transfer fee was 10 million euros.

Ipswich Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Issa Diop from Fulham.
The center-back joins Ipswich for an undisclosed fee, with both parties signing a contract until the summer of 2030.
The 29-year-old Diop moves to Suffolk. This summer, he represented Morocco in the FIFA World Cup, where the team reached the quarter-finals. Diop appeared in all five matches and scored a goal against the Netherlands.
He has extensive experience in the Premier League, with 173 appearances in total. He played for West Ham United for four years, then transferred to Fulham in the summer of 2022.
After the World Cup schedule, Diop will officially return to the team after they complete their training camp in La Manga, Spain.
Born in Toulouse, France, Diop came through the local Toulouse youth academy. In November 2018, at the age of 18, he made his first-team debut; the following year, at just 20 years old, he wore the captain's armband for Toulouse. In the summer of 2018, he transferred to West Ham United for a then club-record fee.
In his first season in the Premier League, Diop was a key player, appearing in 38 matches. He then consistently got playing time under Moyes, helping West Ham United finish sixth and seventh in the Premier League twice, and the team also reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
During his time at West Ham United, he made a total of 119 appearances and scored 8 goals; in 2022, he moved to Craven Cottage, playing 96 matches for Fulham over four seasons, until this transfer to Ipswich.
Before choosing Morocco for his senior national team, Diop represented France at various youth levels up to the U21 team. He was a core member of the French team that won the 2016 U19 European Championship, scoring a goal in the final against Italy.
Through his mother's lineage, Diop received his first call-up to the Moroccan national team in March 2026, making his debut in a friendly against Ecuador, and subsequently making the final squad for the Moroccan World Cup.
In the World Cup group stage, he played in matches against Brazil and Scotland; in the knockout stage, he scored against the Netherlands and started in both games against Canada and France.
