João Mário is officially a Juventus player.Twenty-five-year-old full-back, he arrives at Juventus permanently from Porto and signs a contract that binds him to our colors until June 30, 2030.
João Mário Neto Lopes, this is his full name, was born in São João da Madeira - a municipality in the district of Aveiro - on January 3, 2000. And it was in the team of his hometown, the CEO Sanjoanense, that he took his first steps in the world of football before joining, at the age of eight, the Porto academy.
His career has developed, so far, all with the Dragões jersey with which he has gone through the entire youth sector process until he arrived permanently in the first team; 181 total appearances collected - starting from his debut dated 15 July 2020 - with 5 goals and 25 assists to his credit between national and European competitions. On the other hand, he has won 9 titles in Portugal, in addition to the success in the UEFA Youth League in April 2019 with the youth team of the Porto club. In November 2023, however, he made his debut with the Portuguese senior national team in the Lusitanian victory against Liechtenstein.
João Mário therefore leaves Portugal for the first time, thus ready for this new and important step in his career.
