Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski will be able to face Espanyol.
The Polish forward is suspended for three games after being sent off against Osasuna in the last league match, but the Catalans had the punishment suspended in court, just a week after the TAD sports court had rejected their appeal of the ban.
“Lewandowski can play tomorrow against Espanyol after the dispute settlement court in Madrid issued a precautionary measure against the suspension imposed by the court of arbitration for sport,” wrote Barcelona on Twitter as they announced the surprising news.
Lewandowski may end up having to serve the ban but he will be free to face rivals Espanyol on New Year’s Eve.
