Qatar national team have announced that former Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui signs in as their new coach.
Qatar had settled on Julen Lopetegui after failing to reach an agreement with Christophe Galtier for the Qatari coaching position . Unsurprisingly, the Spaniard, who is free agent, officially signed on Thursday, May 1st.
" The Qatar Football Association has officially announced the appointment of Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui as the new head coach of the Qatar national team, succeeding his fellow Spaniard Luis Garcia in this position ," the Qatari association's statement said. Lopetegui has signed a contract until 2027.
