Lionel Messi signs new deal at Inter Miami valid until December 2028.
MLS has officially confirmed that Messi has renewed his contract with Inter Miami and will continue with the team. He joined Miami in July 2023 and has since become an iconic figure for the club.
In 2025, he contributed 48 goals or assists in 28 regular season appearances, the second-highest single-season total in league history. He also had a direct hand in at least three goals in nine of those games, also a league record.
This month also marked Messi's third MLS Player of the Month award this season (in May, July, and October) and fifth in his career. He is the first player in MLS history to win at least five Player of the Month awards in two years.
In addition, he is the third player in MLS history to win three Player of the Month awards in the same season, joining Carlos Vela in 2019 and Chris Wondolowski in 2012.
