OFFICIAL: Olympiakos signs former City goalkeeper Ortega

Olympiakos Piraeus officially announced that the club has signed former Manchester City goalkeeper Ortega on a free transfer.

Olympiakos Piraeus Football Club announced the signing of German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

The player was born in Hofgeismar on November 6, 1992. In the second half of the recently concluded season, he played for Nottingham Forest and helped the team reach the Europa League semifinals.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper was part of Manchester City from the summer of 2022 to February 2026, making 56 appearances under Pep Guardiola. In the 2022/23 season, Manchester City won the treble (Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League), and Ortega made 14 appearances that season.

He joined Arminia Bielefeld at the age of 15, making 220 appearances for the team and helping them get promoted to the Bundesliga in 2020.
