What happened?
The three relegated teams—Wolves, Burnley, and West Ham United—have returned the share certificates that previously granted them Premier League membership, and the Premier League Board has confirmed that these shares have been cancelled.
Subsequently, the Premier League directors and company secretary signed new share certificates for each promoted team. In accordance with company law, these three clubs have been officially registered in the shareholder register.
Therefore, the status of these three promoted teams as Premier League members has been confirmed, and the league has officially presented them with framed share certificates to welcome them.
Standings Update
The Premier League standings have been reset, with the 20 teams re-arranged in alphabetical order, and the official Premier League social media accounts have also started following the accounts of the three promoted teams.
All 20 clubs can now look forward to the announcement of the 2026-27 season fixtures at 10:00 BST on June 19, with the first round of matches kicking off on August 22, 2026.
