According to Milan News, Alexis Saelemaekers underwent surgery on his right ankle today.
Previously, an ankle sprain sustained during his recovery at Milanello had worsened. The Belgian's ankle stability was already compromised due to surgery for an ankle fracture two years ago. Milan stated that the surgery proceeded as expected and was completed in Amsterdam, with the Rossoneri medical team also present.
Milan released an official statement regarding Saelemaekers' surgery: "Milan announces that today in Amsterdam, Alexis Saelemaekers underwent surgery on his right ankle. The arthroscopic debridement and stabilization surgery, performed by Dr. Gino Kerkhoffs with the presence of Dr. Andrea Bourgonzoni and Milan medical staff member Diego Mantovani, was successfully completed."
