USWNT's World Cup heroine Megan Rapinoe has been named 2019 Women's Ballon d'Or winner.
Rapinoe, 34, had a phenomenal year, with the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup being a highlight. She finished the tournament with six goals and three assists, and won both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball.
The USA co-captain, vocal off the pitch for gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights, also enjoyed a successful season domestically after guiding Reign FC into the National Women's Soccer League play-offs.
England Women star Lucy Bronze ranked 2nd, Rapinoe's national team-mate Alex Morgan 3rd.
