Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has brought an end to speculation regarding his future by signing a contract extension with the Eagles.

The Ivory Coast international has pledged his future to the Selhurst Park outfit for the next five seasons, with his current deal now running until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

He had been linked heavily with a move to either Tottenham or Chelsea over the summer but now looks set remain with his boyhood club for the forseeable future.

After putting pen to paper, Zaha said: “I’m very pleased. Obviously, I just wanted to get it over and done with, so I can just focus on the season. I’m buzzing that we managed to get it sorted.”

The Eagles attacker has been at the club since the age of 12 having progressed through the club’s academy, and is now Palace’s joint-highest Premier League scorer of all-time after his goal against Fulham on the opening weekend of the season.

He has made 288 appearances for the Eagles since debuting in 2010, scoring 44 goals in that time, helping his team secure, and later consolidate, top-flight football.

The recipient of the club’s Player of the Year award for each of the past three seasons, Zaha’s sparkling displays last term saw him net a career-high nine Premier League goals, which has seen him rewarded with a new contract with his boyhood club.
