Ajax, Burnley FC, and Wout Weghorst have reached an agreement on the transfer of the striker to Ajax. The 32-year-old international has signed a contract that takes effect immediately and runs until June 30, 2026.
Weghorst was born on August 7, 1992, in Borne and made his professional debut with FC Emmen, the club he played for between 2012 and 2014. In the following years, he went on to play for Heracles Almelo and AZ before moving to VfL Wolfsburg in 2018.
Since 2022, Weghorst has been under contract with Burnley FC. During his time at the English club, he also played on loan for Besiktas, Manchester United, and TSG Hoffenheim. The center forward made his debut for the Dutch national team in 2018 and has since made 39 appearances for Oranje.
