OPINIOIN: How VAR has already dented City's title hopes

Sportsmail's analyst Adam Shafiq uses his advanced metric that analyses past performances, expected goals and the attacking and defensive strengths of Premier League teams to predict how each club will fare this season.

Foxes clash massive for Lampard's Blues

Sunday's showdown provides a huge test for Chelsea.

If they lose to Leicester their chances of finishing in the top four will drop to 27 per cent.

This is massive considering they started the season with a 45 per cent chance of a top-four finish.

Rodgers top six hopes could shift

If Leicester beat Chelsea, their chances of finishing in the top six will increase to 20 per cent.

The Foxes won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last season.

Survival chance could increase for Blades

It may only be early in the season but Sheffield United’s game against Crystal Palace already has massive importance on the Blades’ hopes of survival.

A win for Chris Wilder’s men will take their chances of staying up to 41%. If they lose, United’s likelihood of relegation goes up to 74 per cent.

Norwich’s victory over Newcastle has also seen their respective chances of survival move closer together.

VAR deals City cruel title blow

Manchester City's over-ruled late goal against Tottenham has affected their chances of winning a third straight Premier League title.

Before the game, City had a 70 per cent chance of winning the league. Their 2-2 draw with Spurs has now seen that slip to 65%.

Liverpool’s chances have now gone up following that result and their 2-1 victory over Southampton.
