On this day in 1899, AC Milan was founded

Milan have won 18 FIFA and UEFA trophies, 18 league titles, 5 Coppa Italia titles and 7 Supercoppa Italiana titles, which made them one of the successful and famous club in the world.

Milan have seen the best players in the world play for this club. Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini, Costacurta, Ruud Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard, Shevchenko, Kaka are some examples who have marked their names in the history of this club.

On this day in 2017, Real Madrid became the first team to win back-to-back Club World Cup titles

Ronaldo's free-kick in the second half help Real Madrid win the trophy for the third time in four years. And Los Blancos became the first side to win the Club World Cup titles or two consecutive years.

On this day in 1990, Guardiola made his debut for Barca

Cruyff gave Guardiola his competitive debut in a league match at home against Cádiz and Barca won the game 2-0. After playing for Barca 378 times, he left this club in 2001.

He returned to the club in 2007 as an assistant manager, then took full reins of the team from 2008 to 2012, totally winning 14 trophies as a coach in Barca.

On this day in 1988, Bayern & Germany defender Mats Hummels born

Hummels came through the Bayern youth academy before joining Dortmund on loan in January 2008 and officially signing for Dortmund then. But he re-joined Bayern Munich on 1 July 2016.

He has been a full international since 2010, earning over 60 caps until date and helping Germany win the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

On this day in 1991, Cantona Cancelled His Contract

On 16 December 1991, Cantona officially quit football, buying out his contract with the Nimes club. The French Football Federation suspended him for a month because he threw the ball at the referee in the match, then doubled the ban after Cantona insulted the members of the disciplinary committee. Out of a desire to be fair to Nimes, he reached an agreement to cancel his contract, assuming an obligation to pay the club £900,000.

Soon after, however, his friend Michel Platini convinced him to return to football with a clean slate by moving to England to join Leeds United. He spent only a few months there, however, before moving to Manchester United in November 1992, where he remained until his second retirement in 1997.

On this day in 2002, Robert Baggio scored his 300th career goal

Brescia forward Roberto Baggio scored his 300th career goal in the home side's Serie A win over Piacenza. With that goal, he became the first Italian in over 50 years to reach 300, and only the third Italian ever to do so.
