Only Mbappe is worth more than Kounde

Jules Kounde is one of the hottest prospects to have come out of France in the past few years and he is now the player in the France squad with second-highest transfer value.

The 22-year-old, who has a contract at Sevilla until 2024, has attracted interest from Europe's biggest clubs and a move after Euro 2020 is concluded is not off the cards.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, which uses various algorithms to measure football players values, Kounde is only behind Kylian Mbappe when it comes to his transfer value in the France squad.

They believe Kounde's transfer value to be 81.7 million euros, while Mbappe is valued at a staggering 265 million euros.

Euro 2020 will be the best place for Kounde to showcase just why he is rated so highly, as the defender looks set to be a part of the starting line-up for Les Bleus.

Teams in England have already shown their interest in Kounde, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea all said to be interested in the highly rated defender.

Manchester City tabled a bid for around 55 million euros last years for Kounde, but the bid fell on deaf ears.

The defender has already spoken about his interest in leaving Sevilla this summer.

"Going to Sevilla seemed to me like the best option to try and improve myself and I do not regret my choice," Kounde said.

"I am already at a big club, but obviously I would like to play for an even bigger club."
