Former England international Michael Owen believes Arsenal should pursue Rashford after failing in their pursuit of Vinicius Jr.
"I can't imagine Vinicius Jr. going to Arsenal, but a move like Rashford's seems reasonable," Owen said.
"I can imagine this deal happening, and it makes sense because Arsenal are looking for a left-sided forward."
"Rashford would fit well into Arteta's plans and also combine well with the current squad. So if Arsenal contacted Manchester United, I could imagine it happening."
Owen also believes that if Rashford does not leave this summer, Carrick is the ideal person to help him revive his career at the club where he played as a child.
"Carrick seems like the most suitable person to put his arm around him, make him feel part of the team, and get him back into the system," Owen added.
"Rashford is an England World Cup player, top quality, and would be a great asset for Manchester United."
"Spending some time at Barcelona would only further benefit his career and experience, so I think it's probably 50/50, but Carrick might be the person who can best unleash Rashford's potential."
