A Premier League star looks unrecognisable in a throwback picture which sees him sporting colours of a rival team.

The goalkeeper, who has won the Premier League and Champions League, wears a yellow Manchester United top in a snap shared on social media.

The 26-year-old has made 22 international appearances and played his first senior game for his side in 2019.

The one club man has been involved in 10 Premier League fixtures this season as well as a further four in the Champions League and EFL Cup.

Earlier in the season, the star admitted he may have to leave his boyhood club as he pushed for a starting berth.

He said: 'I made it clear in the last few years I want to go be a number one and play week in, week out.'

It is indeed Liverpool's second choice goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher.

Red's fans will be shocked to see the Irishman, who joined their academy aged 16 in 2015, donning the strip of arch-rivals Manchester United.

Kelleher, who became just 12th Irish footballer to win the Champions League in 2019, is Ireland's first-choice keeper but has become increasingly restless on the Liverpool bench.

Following Alisson's hamstring injury against Crystal Palace in October, Kelleher started five straight matches, winning five and drawing two, as Arne Slot's side romped to their second ever Premier League title.

He then had to wait four months and 16 games unti his next league start, a 1-0 win in the Merseyside derby with Alisson out with a concussion.

However, he did start in Liverpool's 2-1 League Cup final loss to Newcastle at Wembley.

Kelleher was linked with a move away from Anfield last summer after a string of impressive league and cup displays in Jurgen Klopp's final season.

'I've made it clear in the last few years that I want to go and be a number one and play week in, week out,' Kelleher said last summer.

He could see his minutes further restricted next season with the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.

The £25million Georgian keeper was Slot's first signing as Liverpool boss but has remained in Spain until the end of the season, when he will move to Merseyside.
