PSG’s Luís Campos will not be sanctioned for pitchside antics against Lille

L’Équipe report this afternoon that Ligue 1’s disciplinary commission will not be sanctioning Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting advisor Luís Campos in the wake of his pitchside antics in the team’s win over Lille on Sunday afternoon.

The Portuguese director’s vigorous protests and shouting on the touchline drew criticism, the former Monaco man being seen as overstepping his role, but it was later confirmed that his accreditation allowed him to be on the sidelines – although not on the bench, given he was not listed as a member of staff on the team sheet.

The referee, Willy Delajod, did not mention Campos in his match report, meaning the latter will not be called up by the league’s disciplinary commission. His impassioned protests ostensibly did not see him insult the officials, which would explain why he was not sent off. The hosts were 3-2 down when Campos came down, and completed a late comeback to seal the three points after Kylian Mbappé’s equaliser and Lionel Messi’s free-kick winner.
