PSG open talks with Bournemouth star as Liverpool close in on Milos Kerkez

European champions Paris St Germain have opened talks with Bournemouth for their centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi.

PSG are yet to make an offer, but the Cherries are reluctant to sell having lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid while Liverpool are closing on their left-back Milos Kerkez.

The Champions League winners are starting to consider long-term replacements for captain Marquinhos, who turned 31 last month.

Ukrainian defender Zabarnyi has caught the eye since joining the Cherries from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023.

The 22-year-old started all but three of Bournemouth's Premier League matches last season and he was suspended for two of those.

Only five teams in the top flight conceded less goals than Andoni Iraola's side, who finished ninth in the standings.

Bournemouth have discussed a bid for Rennes defender Adrien Truffert as a possible replacement for Kerkez.

Kerkez could become Liverpool's second signing of the summer after Bayer Leverkusen right wing-back Jeremie Frimpong.

Bournemouth have reportedly slapped a £45m price tag on Kerkez, one of their most prized assets.

The club will be reluctant to lose a man who has been one of their top performers over the last two seasons and he still has three years remaining on his contract.

Real Madrid completed the £50million signing of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen after activating his release clause in May.
