The son of Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has urged Matthijs de Ligt to join Barcelona because the Old Trafford club are 'w***' and have a 'team full of b***ends'.
Scholes's son Arron, 19, launched a withering attack on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on Twitter at half time during Ajax's 1-0 win over Tottenham on Tuesday night.
Centre back De Ligt has been linked with a move away from Amsterdam this summer, with Barcelona, following the £65million acquisition of Ajax team-mate Frenkie de Jong, and United interested in the player.
However, following the Red Devils' miserable recent run of form, Arron warned De Ligt to head to Spain over Manchester.
'As much as I’d love to see De Ligt at United, I wouldn’t even wish that on him,' he said.
'Go to Barca and enjoy your career mate because we’re w*** and have a team full of b***ends.'
