Pedro Neto under UEFA investigation after ball boy incident

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Pedro Neto following an incident during the Champions League round of 16 first leg between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

With PSG leading 4-2, the Portuguese winger tried to restart play quickly with a throw-in and pushed a ball boy who, in his view, was not returning the ball fast enough. Neto immediately apologized for the gesture, and the referee did not issue a card during the match.

Despite the absence of an on-field sanction, UEFA decided to review the incident afterward. In an official statement, the governing body confirmed: “Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Chelsea player Pedro Lomba Neto for unsportsmanlike conduct.”

The decision could have major consequences, as the Chelsea player now risks suspension and could miss the decisive second leg next week.
