Jordan Pickford was on hand to console a crestfallen Harry Kane following England's heartbreaking World Cup exit at the hands of France in Qatar on Saturday evening.
The Everton stopper approached the crouched Tottenham forward following the final whistle after he had both scored and missed a penalty with Aurelien Tchouameni and Olivier Giroud both on target.
Furthermore, Pickford was joined by Kieran Trippier in shepherding cameras away from Kane who was covering his face following his missed opportunity in the closing stages.
Walking towards the camera, Pickford said: "A bit of respect, please?"
Kane was understandably low as England failed to replicate their semi-final appearance of 2018 with France taking on Morocco for a chance to play either Croatia or Argentina in the final.
The 29-year-old, who equaled Wayne Rooney's England record tally of 53 goals when finding the net with his first effort from 12-yards, would later face the cameras head on.
"I'm always someone who prepares, if I get one penalty in a game or two penalties, I always have an idea of what I want to do," Kane told ITV.
"So yeah, I can't fault my preparation or anything like that, the details, it was just the execution on the night.
"The first one was great, and the second one [I] just didn't quite hit it how I wanted to. That's something I'm going to have to take on the chin and it'll hurt for sure.
"The whole game will hurt because we had belief in what we were trying to achieve, but as the captain I'll take that. I couldn't be prouder of the boys.
"A World Cup is every four years, it's not like we have another opportunity next year. It is a long time to wait, but like I said I'm proud of the boys.
"We had a great camp, a great World Cup and like I said, it come down to a small detail that I'll take responsibility for."
