Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel are among the favourites to become the next permanent Tottenham head coach with current Spurs boss Antonio Conte under increasing pressure
Mauricio Pochettino continues to lead the race to replace Antonio Conte following Tottenham's early exit from the Champions League. The Italian boss was met with a chorus of boos from Spurs supporters at full-time as AC Milan waltzed through to the quarter-final.
The north London outfit have now failed to win any of their previous five Champions League knockout fixtures since a 3-2 win over Ajax in May 2019 when, ironically, Pochettino was last in charge. Conte sees his contract with Tottenham expire at the end of the season and, while the club hold the option to extend his tenure by a further year, it appears increasingly likely that Daniel Levy will not trigger the said clause.
The Argentine remains favourite to be the next permanent Spurs boss at 11/8, with Tuchel second most-likely at 5/1. De Zerbi, who has impressed at Brighton this term, has come in at 11/2 with Thomas Frank at 8/1.
"I have a contract with Tottenham and then Tottenham know very well which is my thoughts and at the end of season we will meet and then we'll make a decision."
