Chelsea are still in the market for a new midfielder this summer as Todd Boehly struggles to wrap up a deal for Moises Caicedo
Mauricio Pochettino has reminded Todd Boehly that Chelsea still need to further bolster his midfield this summer. Following the departures of N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount, the Blues are short on options in the middle of the park.
As a result, the 51-year-old has been left to work with Enzo Fernandez, Conor Gallagher, Andrey Santos and Cesar Casadei. Chelsea have also recently acquired Lesley Ugochukwu, but it remains to be seen whether the teenage sensation will be sent out on loan.
While Pochettino has relished the chance to work with a number of exciting young players, who are looking to force themselves into his plans this season, the west Londoners still haven't managed to wrap up a deal for Moises Caicedo.
"No, I told you that we need to improve in all the areas. I am happy with the midfield but we also need to improve this area," said Pochettino. The Argentine was asked a similar question ahead of Chelsea's pre-season clash against Newcastle United earlier this summer
He replied: "It depends on the situation of different players. We need at least one more and we are working on that. It depends on what happens in the next few weeks. We will decide and take our decision."
