Rashford gets Man Utd escape route after Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer demand

A number of clubs are willing to offer Marcus Rashford the chance to kickstart his career in Saudi Arabia - including Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.

Rashford was left out of the Manchester United team that won the Manchester derby at the weekend, sparking further speculation about his future. He then revealed he was ready to move on to pastures new during a midweek interview.

The 27-year-old has endured a difficult 18 months and it has previously been speculated that finding a suitor capable of taking on his significant salary would be difficult, particularly within Europe.

That would not be an issue in Saudia Arabia, though - and it's now emerged that a handful of Saudi Pro League clubs want to make Rashford their marquee signing.

As first outlined by The Telegraph, Rashford would be of interest to the Saudi Pro League's top four clubs: Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli. It's also suggested that newly promoted Al-Qadsiah would also like to acquire him.

While it remains to be seen if Rashford would seriously entertain the idea of moving to Saudi Arabia, his comments earlier this week paint the picture of a player who needs a new challenge. It's expected, though, that he would prefer to remain in Europe.

Al-Nassr's interest in Rashford will come as no surprise; the Saudi Pro League outfit have regularly been linked with some of Europe's biggest stars since landing Ronaldo on a mega-money deal back in 2022.

The Portuguese superstar, who played alongside Rashford in his second spell at Manchester United, is said to have pushed his new club to compete for some of said signings, including Kevin de Bruyne when it seemed he could be poised to leave Manchester City back in the summer.

While there are no indications to suggest that is the case with Rashford, Ronaldo would be able to give Al-Nassr some firsthand insight on the player from their time together at Old Trafford if they do decide to pursue a deal for the Red Devils academy graduate.

Rashford could attract interest when the January transfer window opens in less than two weeks time after saying: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.

"When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. I'e seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me."
