AS understands that the former Spain boss, who was appointed at the Bernabéu in June, wants to be completely focused on Real's pre-season preparations and avoid any distractions.
After his side's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in Miami in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday, Lopetegui today cancelled his profiles on Twitter - on which he had just over 140,000 followers - and Instagram.
Had used social media to show Benzema support
Though not a prolific poster, the 51-year-old - who, when asked about Twitter in a May interview with AS, said: "I have my opinions" - had been known to make his presence felt on social media from time to time.
In July, for example, he published a picture of himself with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, in what was seen as a public show of support for the oft-criticised Frenchman.
