Real Madrid supporters will stage a protest over their club's 'favourable treatment' of certain fan groups ahead of the clash against Girona on Saturday night, according to reports.

The LaLiga leaders welcome this season's surprise package in the top of the table clash at the Bernabeu, though the event is set to be marked by demonstrations by their own fans.

During last weekend's Madrid derby, it was reported that fighting broke out in the stands between a certain section of both sets of supporters. This has prompted regular Bernabeu-goers to voice their displeasure at the club's treatment towards particular fan groups.

According to Relevo, fans will stage a protest ahead of their game against the Catalan side after becoming upset by Real Madrid's handling of supporters in the 'cheering stands'.

The report quotes one of the dissatisfied Madrileno, who cited 'repeated attacks on several members' dating as far back as 2021.

'There have been repeated attacks on several members by members of the cheering stands.' The fan said. 'In 2021, a member was assaulted outside the Bernabeu, causing a fracture. The case is still in trial.

'We asked the club and found silence for an answer. Last Sunday, the aggression was repeated. These people are protected by the club. It was put in place to replace what was Ultras Sur and there have already been two serious attacks.'

Carlo Ancelotti's side have the chance to deal a hammer blow to the lofty aspirations of Girona on Saturday night. His team's lead at the top was cut to just two points after their 1-1 draw with Atletico.

Girona's only league defeat this season came at the hands of Madrid, when goals from Joselu, Aurelien Tchouameni and Jude Bellingham secured an impressive 3-0 away win back in September.
