Real Madrid have announced their matchday squad for Saturday’s LaLiga clash against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu, and three key first-team players are missing.

Jude Bellingham faces race to return
Jude Bellingham is arguably the most high-profile absentee. The England star suffered a hamstring injury in the early stages of the victory over Rayo Vallecano on Feb. 1 and is expected to remain sidelined for several more weeks.
As it stands, Bellingham faces a “race against time” to be ready for England’s friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at the end of March, according to manager Thomas Tuchel. Madrid, however, hope to have the midfielder available before then, perhaps for the visit to Celta Vigo on March 7 or a potential Champions League round of 16 first leg on March 10 or 11. It remains unclear whether that will be possible.
Rodrygo dealing with setback
Rodrygo is also managing a hamstring issue, although it is considered less serious. On Feb. 6, reports indicated the Brazilian attacker would be sidelined for around 10 days. He will also be suspended for Tuesday’s Champions League playoff game.
The best-case scenario would see him return for next weekend’s LaLiga trip to Osasuna.
Militão still working his way back
The most severe hamstring injury was sustained by Éder Militão in early December. The defender was initially given a recovery timeline of four months, although recent updates suggest he could slightly shorten that period.
The Brazil international recently posted a photo of himself training in the gym, but he is still thought to be some way from a return to competitive action.
Mbappé available for selection
There is better news for head coach Álvaro Arbeloa. Star forward Kylian Mbappé is available after missing two days of training with a minor knee issue, and center back Raúl Asencio has recovered from illness.
Madrid will now look to navigate a demanding stretch of domestic and European fixtures without several of their most influential players.
