Dutch wonderkid Frenkie De Jong is attracting interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs with Real Madrid joining Barcelona and Tottenham in the chase for the youngster's signature.

The 21-year-old Ajax midfielder has represented Netherlands at all levels after making his debut for the senior team last week. He impressed, coming off the bench to grab an assist in their 2-1 win over Peru.

Unsurprisingly, Ajax are keen to hold on to him. Every big club that has knocked on the door to enquire about him, has been met with the same answer: he's not for sale.

Barcelona have been trying to sign De Jong since the start of the year and came close to signing him this Summer but weren't able to budge Ajax on a selling point.

Tottenham also tried to test that resolve this Summer but their bid of €50million (£45m) was rejected according to Mundo Deportivo.

Now Real Madrid have joined the race with De Jong being fond of Los Blanocs according to OK Diario. But with the midfielder under contract with Ajax until 2022, it won't be an easy transfer to complete as Barcelona and Spurs have already found out.

Liverpool and Netherlands midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was also full of praise for the dynamic midfielder after they both played 90 minutes against France on Sunday. However, Wijnaldum has urged De Jong to think twice before moving away from Ajax: 'Frenkie is a great player, he did a good job and makes it easier for us by the way he plays football.

'A lot has been written about him lately, so I've been watching how he plays at Ajax. He is doing very well now, but we have often had Dutch players who first played very well then later became less.'
