The first Madrid derby of the 2021/22 LaLiga Santander season will take place on Sunday night, as Real Madrid host Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. It's a huge game for local pride and for the title race, as Los Blancos currently lead Atleti by 10 points, although they've played a game more.

Both sides come into this weekend's clash on a high, after Real Madrid topped their Champions League group in midweek and after Atletico defeated Porto to secure their place in the last 16.

Now, focus turns back to LaLiga Santander action as last season's two title challengers battle it out in the first Madrid derby with fans since February 2020.

Real Madrid vs Atletico predicted line-ups

Carlo Ancelotti thanked his club's medical staff in the pre-match build-up because he only has Dani Ceballos out injured right now. But, Karim Benzema isn't 100 percent, so Luka Jovic could yet start.

As for Atletico, they have a mini injury crisis and are without two of their centre-backs in Jose Maria Gimenez and Stefan Savic and both their right-backs in Kieran Trippier and Sime Vrsaljko. Plus, Luis Suarez remains a slight doubt too.

Real Madrid's predicted line-up: Thibaut Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy; Luka Modric, Casemiro, Toni Kroos; Rodrygo, Luka Jovic, Vinicius.

Atletico Madrid's predicted line-up: Jan Oblak; Marcos Llorente, Felipe, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Mario Hermoso; Angel Correa, Koke, Rodrigo de Paul, Yannick Carrasco; Antoine Griezmann, Matheus Cunha.
