Real Madrid will move for Man City forward Brahim Diaz in January

According to Cadena SER, Real Madrid will try to sign Manchester City Forward Brahim Diaz in January -- even though he is out of contract in the summer.

Brahim, 19, is part of City's first team squad and has played three times this season, scoring twice in the League Cup win over Fulham.

Barcelona tried to sign him when he was 14 but he opted for City and has progressed through the ranks at the English champions.

Reports in Spain, though, say an operation is now advanced for him to come back to his homeland. If Madrid can't do a deal in the summer, the can sign him for free next summer if he does not renew at the Etihad.

Brahim has made his debut for Spain U21s and has played for City in three games: two in the League Cup and one in the Community Shield.

After his brace against Fulham, David Silva labelled him "the future" of the Spanish national team.

For now, Brahim has not commented on his future but his lack of minutes could see him opt to leave City for Madrid sooner than later.

Pep Guardiola has said he wants the forward to stay -- "We will do everything to keep him, but he's the one who will decide" -- but that may not be enough.
