Reece James is set to make a further step at international level on Friday night as he makes his bow for Aidy Boothroyd's England side in the Euro Under-21 qualifier in Albania.

The 19-year-old is one of the many beneficiaries of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard's faith in youth this season.

With Chelsea players an increasing presence within England camps, five were named in Gareth Southgate's squad for this month's games, James will be looking to force his way into the senior picture with an impressive showing at youth level.

"It's great getting my first chance in the Premier League," said James. "Scoring in the Champions League was fantastic. It is what I'd dreamed of.

"There is a great atmosphere in this England changing room. I grew up with a lot of the players and we have gelled well."

England face Albania in Shkoder looking to keep their place at the top of qualifying Group C.

Boothroyd, however, will have to do without Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, who is recovering from an abdominal injury at his loan club Leeds. The striker has scored six goals in four outings for the Young Lions this season.
