Reguilon wants European football after falling out of favour at Tottenham

Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon is prioritising a move to a club playing in Europe next season as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

The left-back can leave this summer and is attracting interest from a number of sides but the defender has so far opted against accepting the most recent proposals.

Reguilon wants to play European football next season and is waiting for an opportunity at a club that can provide him with that platform.

The 27-year-old can leave Tottenham having fallen out of favour under Ange Postecoglou.

He spent the back end of last season on loan at Brentford, where he made 16 appearances, including 14 starts.

In January, Manchester United cut Reguilon's loan short after he failed to impress at Old Trafford.

Reguilon made just seven starts in all competitions for Erik ten Hag's side, with the last of these coming during a dire 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth in December.

Despite missing a short period with a hamstring injury, Reguilon was generally available to Ten Hag in the midst of a much wider injury crisis.

After a solid start to his career in north London upon arriving from Real Madrid in 2020, the 27-year-old hasn't played for his parent club since the 2021-22 campaign and spent the 2022-23 season on loan with Atletico Madrid.
