A few days ago, reporter Andy Brassell gave an interview to British media talkSPORT, in which he revealed that Chelsea failed to sign Osimhen because the salary they were willing to offer was only 1/3 of the player's current salary.

Osimhen became famous at Napoli. In the summer window of 2024, Chelsea contacted him, but the transfer failed, and the player eventually joined Süper Lig team Galatasaray.
Nevertheless, Osimhen is still rumored to be transferred to Premier League teams. He continues to maintain an excellent scoring record this season, scoring a total of 19 goals in 28 games.
As the summer transfer window approaches, speculation about Osimhen's possible transfer again has already begun.
It is reported that Osimhen's weekly salary in Turkey reaches £250,000. Reporter Brassell revealed that he demanded a high salary from the team when he transferred from Lille to Naples.
Brassell told talkSPORT: "If we go back to when he transferred from Lille to Napoli, (then Napoli coach) Gattuso even volunteered to cut his salary in order to sign Osimhen, because they knew that to sign Osimhen, they would not only have to pay a high transfer fee, but also a considerable salary."
"This deal was a huge contribution made by Gattuso to Napoli. Eventually, under the leadership of Spalletti, Osimhen achieved success in Napoli."
Brassell also revealed that Chelsea's negotiations with Osimhen did not go any further because they could only offer up to one-third of Galatasaray's salary, or even less.
