Chelsea are reportedly interested in Marcus Rashford from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Man United are in talks with Rashford to extend a £200,000-a-week contract that expires at Old Trafford next summer.

It is understood that Chelsea are interested in trying to sign the 24-year-old attacker, though, if he becomes available.

The report claims the Blues could try sort a deal for the English forward as early as the January transfer window.

In addition, Spanish side Atletico Madrid are admirers of the Man United player.

Chelsea interested in Rashford

Rashford, who's rediscovered some individual form under Man United boss Erik ten Hag, is a complicated player.

The speedster's game has dropped off massively since bursting onto to the scene as a youngster many years ago, but he's still a fantastic talent when he's on form.

His most recent England cap came in July last year, but fans are talking about a potential return to Gareth Southgate's squad with his current form.

Rashford looks to be edging back towards some form with three goals and two assists in six Premier League games during this campaign. In fact, pundit Ian Wright recently said Rashford “looks reborn” this season.

Do Blues need him?

First of all, Rashford's form needs to continue for a little while longer still before everybody can assume the best version of him is back.

As for Chelsea, let's see what new head coach Graham Potter can do with the existing crop of attackers before the club targets new signings in that area of the pitch.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink predicts that Blues boss Potter “will love” working with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He can take a look at the likes of Armando Broja, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic, too.
