Robbie Keane and Jamie Redknapp have praised Joao Cancelo for providing Raheem Sterling with an 'unbelievable' pass for Manchester City's first goal against Everton.

Cancelo registered his sixth assist of the season after sensationally finding Sterling from 25-yards outside the box.

Keane described it as the 'pass of the season', while Redknapp insisted it was something 'young kids should practice'.

Cancelo played the ball into the path of Sterling - who simply slotted it past Jordan Pickford to put City 1-0 ahead in the 44th minute of the game.

Speaking about the pass during the half-time break, said Robbie Keane said: 'That's the pass of the season for me, you're not going to see a better pass all season.

'The ball is unbelievable but don't underestimate the movement from Sterling, and the finish is incredible. He's taken the opportunity with his 300th appearance.'

While Redknapp added: 'Amazing, there's a pass he did against Man United we spent half an hour arguing about the defending on, but this is better.

'This one is incredible, to play that with the outside of the foot to bend that into an area. It just shows you, all great players use all different parts of their foot.

'That's what young kids should practice. Scholes used to be brilliant at it, Modric. All great players do that, an amazing pass.'

Gary Neville - who was on the commentary - also branded Cancelo's pass as 'absolutely ridiculous'.
