Robertson posts brilliant response to his slip against Chelsea at Anfield

Andy Robertson overcame a scare at Anfield on Sunday, after slipping against Chelsea and momentarily bringing back memories of former Reds captain Steven Gerrard doing likewise in the same fixture in 2014.

In an almost mirrored situation, Liverpool came up against rivals Chelsea in the final weeks of the season with the Premier League title on the line.

As the game wound down to the latter stages with Chelsea pushing for a way back in, Robertson lost his footing near the halfway line when looking to make an inside pass.

Possession was immediately surrendered to Gonzalo Higuain, though Liverpool had bodies behind the ball and were able to avert danger - unlike the same scenario five years ago when Demba Ba strolled through on goal to finish.

Liverpool quickly recovered and went on to see out the game, taking a 2-0 win and returning to the top of the Premier League.

In the aftermath of the tie, Robertson saw the funny side of things when taking to social media.

Posting an image of the slip on Instagram, Robertson wrote: 'relaxxx.'

The left back was seen celebrating passionately at the final whistle, as Anfield turned into a cauldron of noise and relief.
