Cristiano Ronaldo showed his softer side as a doting father as he took to social media to celebrate the third birthday of his daughter Bella.

While he may be a serial winner on the pitch, the Al-Nassr star demonstrated a more tender side to his personality as he marked the milestone.

He posted a picture of the pair embraced in a hug together while lying on grass and both of them smiling at one another.

Ronaldo, 40, wrote on Instagram: 'Happy birthday, my love! Our love is always with you'.

Bella is the youngest of Ronaldo's children with model and social media personality Georgina Rodriguez.

Rodriguez met the Portuguese star in 2016 - while she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid and Cristiano played for Los Blancos.

Rodriguez and Ronaldo's first daughter was born in November 2017.

The couple announced their second pregnancy in October 2021 with Rodriguez giving birth to twin, in April 2022, one of whom was Bella.

Tragically, the baby boy died during childbirth.

In an Instagram post following the stillbirth of their son, Ronaldo and Rodriguez wrote: 'It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.'

Ronaldo has three more children as well as Bella - a son born in June 2010 and twins born in June 2017, whom Rodríguez has raised as her own.

In September last year, the Portuguese star revealed that his competitiveness has spread to activities with his five children.

'I was in the Red Sea a couple of days ago, I play every day padel. Me and Cristiano Jr get mad, we don't speak for like two days,' he told the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast.

'This is why I'm happy, even the small one Matteo [gets competitive], I like it. It shows they have personality.

'Seriously, my kids, they are like me. I don't teach them but they see by example because sometimes when I lose I get angry, sometimes I cry, depends on the moment.

'They are kind of the same, so even with my kids I compete, I always want to win. I don't give nothing for free.'
